All three actions start from Team → Billing → Upgrade / change plan. What happens next depends on the direction:
Upgrading: charged immediately, but only for what's left of your cycle
Pick a higher-priced plan and the CRM shows you a preview of the exact amount before you confirm — a prorated top-up, not the new plan's full price. It's calculated from how many days are left in your current billing cycle, so you're only paying the difference for the time actually remaining, not paying twice for days already covered.
Once you confirm and the payment goes through, the upgrade takes effect immediately — every feature and limit on the new plan is active right away, not at your next renewal date. Your regular full-price billing on the new plan then begins exactly when your old cycle would have renewed anyway, so nothing doubles up.
Downgrading: scheduled, not immediate, and never charges you
Pick a lower-priced plan and nothing changes today. There's no charge, and — deliberately — no immediate loss of features either: you keep full access to everything your current plan includes until your current billing cycle actually ends, at which point the switch happens automatically. The upgrade screen shows you the exact date this will take effect.
Changed your mind before that date arrives? Go back to Billing → Upgrade / change plan and either cancel the pending downgrade (staying on your current plan) or pick a different target plan — the newer choice simply replaces the pending one; only one downgrade can be scheduled at a time.
Cancelling: different depending on whether you're on a free trial or a paid plan
If you're still on the free trial
Cancel directly from Billing — this stops the trial's authorization before it would otherwise convert to a paid charge, and you get a confirmation email as written proof that no charge is coming. You can still sign back in and reactivate later if you change your mind.
If you're already on a paid plan
There's a 3-day window from your most recent payment — whether that was your original signup charge or a later upgrade — during which you can request a refund from Billing → History. Requesting it within that window:
- Refunds that specific payment in full back to your original payment method.
- If the refunded payment was an upgrade, your account reverts to the plan you were on before the upgrade — access continues, just back where it was, with no gap.
- If the refunded payment was your very first charge on the account, your subscription is cancelled outright and the account is suspended — the same state a subscription that simply lapsed would leave you in. You'd sign up again if you want back in later.
Past the 3-day window, there's no self-serve full cancellation button in the product today — the ongoing lever at that point is downgrading to the lowest available plan (which takes effect at your next renewal, at no charge, as described above) rather than an immediate mid-cycle cancellation. If your situation genuinely needs something outside that — a billing dispute, an account closure outside the refund window — that's a conversation for support rather than a settings toggle.
Where to check what you've been charged
Billing → History lists every payment on your account with a downloadable PDF receipt for each one — the same screen the 3-day refund request is made from.
